Metro Transit’s new A Line rapid bus line kicks off its service on Saturday morning with grand opening events and free rides!

The A Line will travel on city streets, but include a variety of design changes to make the service faster and more efficient than regular bus service:

  • Payment: At stations instead of on the bus
  • Bus: Wider doors and aisles so more people can get on and off easily
  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi
  • Service Frequency: 10 minutes most of the day (schedule)
  • Stop Frequency: about every 1/2 mile – so you’ll be moving more of the time
  • Stations: will have ticket machines, a Go-To Card reader, enhanced maps and real-time departure signs
  • Security: cameras, emergency phones, and improved lighting

The A Line will connect with the METRO Blue Line at 46th Street Station and the METRO Green Line at Snelling & University Station and other destinations, including Rosedale, HarMar, the State Fairgrounds, Hamline University, Macalester College, and Highland Village.
